35 Years of Making a Difference

I’m a gardener, and STI started with a seed that Jim Stahl Sr. (RIP) and I planted 35 years ago today. I like to think of STI at 35 as a beautiful and strong tree, with deep roots and long, beautiful, branches that never cease to produce new flowers. The roots go deep because we have built relationships of trust with our customers and our colleagues over time. This was possible because we have never had a layoff – so our people really know the business, and our customers don’t have to train new salespeople every so often. We’re the proof that people create the bonds, not a brand name. The branches extend out and produce many flowers because we keep adding people, creating new market segments, and innovating. This tree will continue to grow if we remain true to our core values.  I am immensely grateful to all our wonderful colleagues and customers who are the fertilizer that keeps that tree beautiful and strong.

The next edition of The Burn will highlight this milestone in depth, looking back on 35 years of progress while also sharing our
vision for the future. We look forward to celebrating the stories, milestones, and memories that remind us not only of what we have accomplished but why we do what we do.

During our Americas Meeting last week our teams came together over three days to share ideas, align on strategy, and shape the future of our business. We honored outstanding contributions at our Gala celebration and enjoyed an incredible performance by our own band, Two-Stage Intumescents. The weekend concluded with hands-on training at ten demo stations, showcasing the expertise and passion that define our culture. Thank you to every member of the STI team for making these moments possible and for continuing to drive innovation and excellence every day.
