Systems have been developed for even complex openings with multiple cable trays.
Plastic Pipe Solutions for Polymeric Process Piping can be important in industrial environments, including chemical processing, laboratories, and acid waste. STI’s powerful line of intumescent materials, including wrap strips, collars, and sealants, are tested and certified for use with PP, HDPE, FRPP, PVDF, FRP, PVC, CPVC and other types of plastic piping, including double containment piping and high-purity water.
Movement for Steam Lines and High-Energy Piping can be a concern and STI has successfully developed systems and testing that can accommodate such conditions.
Cable Tray Protection can be a concern for cable spreading rooms, substations, control rooms, and other high density cable areas and STI’s SpecSeal® CS105 Cable Spray can be used to provide an economical and effective way to limit flame propagation in such conditions. Fully tested to FM 3971, IEC 60331, IEC 60332, and other standards, CS105 can be used to fully encapsulate grouped cabling or to create fire breaks in cable tray applications.
Circuit Integrity Protective Wrap Systems tested according to ASTM E1725 and UL1724 are available to provide hourly fire resistance ratings to conduits and cable tray using SpecSeal® Thermal Barrier Wrap (TBW).
SpecSeal® SSS Firestop Sealant is a premium grade water-based Intumescent firestop sealant. SpecSeal® SSS Sealant incorporates our proprietary two-stage intumescent technology making it the go to choice for any combustible or non-combustible penetrants. As little as a 1/2″ applied depth of SSS Sealant is required to provide up to a 4 Hr Fire resistance rating when tested to ASTM E814/UL 1479.
SpecSeal® SSM Firestop Mortar is a light-weight cost conscious solution for oversized openings in concrete walls and floors. Once mixed with water, SpecSeal® Mortar forms a light weight, low density slurry that easily applies into concrete walls and floors. SpecSeal® Mortar cures quickly and will not spall or crack due to freeing or changes in temperature.
SpecSeal® SSP Firestop Putty excels at sealing cabling penetrations and outlet boxes. SSP Putty is non-hardening and easily hand works around grouped cabling penetrations forming a re-enterable seal allowing for future work. When applied with outlet boxes, SSP Putty easily works into voids and seams forming a continuous seal against fire and the products of combustion.
SpecSeal® Cable Spray applies quickly to grouped cables within cable trays, providing protection against cable jacketing ignition from direct fire exposure and slowing flame propagation. Cable Spray applies quickly with an airless spray rig, only requiring a minimum 1/8″ wet applied thickness. Once cured, Cable Spray forms a flexible, water and weather resistance seal adhering to virtually all cable jacketing materials.
SpecSeal® Composite Sheet is the ideal solution for large openings where a permanent seal is required. Composite sheet consists of a thin sheet steel with intumescent embedded onto a single side. Composite sheet partners with other SpecSeal® firestop products such as Firestop Collars and EZ-Path® Devices to size down oversized openings.
SpecSeal® SSC Firestop Collars are factory-manufactured firestop devices sized to plastic pipes of up to 6 in. Trade Size. SSC Collars consist of a restraining collar with a factory applied intumescent ensuring the correct amount of material is applied every time. Under fire exposure, SSC Collars quickly expand and collapse combustible piping forming a dense char, resisting the passage of smoke and flame.
SpecSeal® SSW Wrap Strips are available in a variety of sizes and types to tackle any combustible penetration. SSW Wrap Strips are available in 12 ft. rolls as well as individually pre-sized strips to minimize waste and speed up installation. When installed in conjunction with restraining steel, SSW Wrap Strips are able to collapse non-metallic piping of up to 12 in. diam.!
STI Thermal Barrier Wrap is the ideal solution for large electrical panels and med gas valve stations installed in fire-rated construction. When installed around electrical conduits or cable trays, Thermal Barrier Wrap provides up to 2 Hours of electrical circuit integrity ensuring circuit performance even when immersed in flame.

In the event a product does not conform to this warranty, the sole and exclusive remedy is, at STI’s option, replacement of the product or refund of the purchase price.
