Virtual FIT Level 2

December 16th - December 17th

FIT Level 2 is typically a two-day in-person live event at our corporate headquarters in Somerville, NJ. However, due to current conditions, we will be delivering FIT Level 2 in virtual format only for the remainder of 2020. This course is non-proprietary to specific brands and as such is accredited with the American Institute of Architects (AIA) for 8 LU/HSW credits, 6 BICSI CECs and will be delivered in 8 hours over 2 days.

FIT Level 2

Firestopping is a topic of great interest to contractors and facility engineering professionals, particularly since fire and smoke barriers are constantly being breeched with new services or cable changes for voice and data systems in modern facilities. With proper planning and training, the firestopping process is greatly simplified, costs are reduced, and facility owners are provided with code-compliant firestop systems, thereby enhancing life safety and property protection. This comprehensive, competency-based course is designed to educate and train participants in the fundamentals needed to become a resident firestop specialist. The goal is to equip the participant with the knowledge and tools needed to return home and serve as a resident expert in confirming whether or not firestop installations are code compliant.

Who Should Attend?

People who will install, inspect, specify, train or supervise firestop installations. These include contractors, AHJs, architects, engineers, maintenance managers, IS managers, CE managers, IT directors, infectious control managers, life-safety officers, loss reduction specialists and other interested parties.

Those who attend the FIT2 and achieve 80% or higher on their exam and attend a train-the-trainer session, can become a certified FIT1 Trainer. They will receive the Trainer’s Curriculum Kit link after successful completion of the course and exam. Being a trainer allows you to train others in your organization or related field to receive a FIT Level 1 certification.

Each session starts promptly at 10:00 am and finishes at 2:00 pm (EDT/EST).
