STI has a line of non-rated EZ-Path® Pathways for wall or ceiling conditions. The molded devices with self-sealing membranes improve the aesthetics of cable installations, while also providing remedial sealing function for smoke, acoustics, and general air sealing. The National Electrical Code® (NEC; NFPA 70) defines sleeves as “sections of conduit or tubing used to protect exposed wiring from physical damage”. EZ-Path® Smoke & Acoustical Pathways provide support and protection to sensitive communications cabling.
The EZ-Path® System is the industry’s most advanced cable sealing system. Designed to provide unmatched flexibility, EZ-Path is tested to ASTM E814, UL1479, and CAN/ULC-S115 for 1, 2, 3, or 4 hours in all common constructions. The self-adjusting, self-closing intumescent foam pad system accommodates cable MACs while maintaining fire ratings and L Ratings for particulate air and smoke.
The EZ-Path® Retrofit Device can accommodate cable fills up to 100 percent visual fill and immediately places the cable sleeves in full compliance, eliminating citations, and can quickly remedy the deficiencies found during a survey. Not only is the system UL® Certified, but it provides up to two-hour fire ratings in all common constructions. The EZ-Path® Retrofit Device is a quick, economical and sustainable solution.
Fire Codes, such as ICC’s International Fire Code® (IFC) mandate that firestop systems must be continuously maintained for the life of the structure. STI Systems are designed to vastly reduce maintenance. The EZ-Path System can actually eliminate maintenance since it contains no moving parts and requires no action to activate the internal sealing system. Competitive products do require action to activate the sealing function such as a twist-closure or insertion of a foam plug or putty. Therefore, those methods require routine inspection and maintenance to ensure ongoing code compliance.
Data centers and MAC work go hand-in-hand, and STI can help. EZ-Path® is a great choice for this environment, particularly where gaseous suppression systems are used. Such systems are designed to dispense the prescribed amount of clean agent, and enclosure integrity is an important consideration. Vent flows into and out of the enclosure can be problematic. EZ-Path® is the best choice because it offers predictable performance 100% of the time. With known air leakage values and an automatic sealing system, engineering calculations are always correct.
The EZ-Path® Series 44+ Fire-Rated Pathway is designed for high cable volume conditions through fire-rated walls and floors while eliminating the burden of ongoing maintenance. The Series 44+ incorporates self-sealing intumescent pads that automatically adjust to the installed cable fill without the need for user manipulation. Under fire exposure, the intumescent pads expand and swell resisting the passage of smoke and flame.
The EZ-Path® Series 33 Fire-Rated Pathway is a maintenance-free pathway solution for moderate cable volumes through fire-rated walls and floors. The Series 33 incorporates built-in intumescent pads that automatically adjust to cable fills. When exposed to flame and high temperatures, the intumescent pads expand to form a dense insulative char that prevent the passage of smoke and flame.
Overfilled cable sleeves are the bane of every facilities team, bring these deficient openings back into code compliance with the EZ-Path® Retrofit Device. Its two-part clam shell design installs around projecting sleeves and cable bundles restoring fire and smoke leakage performance. The EZ-Path® Retrofit Device quickly and easily retrofits sleeves of up to 100% visual fill restoring fire performance without the need for additional firestop products.
SpecSeal® SSP Firestop Putty excels at sealing cabling penetrations and outlet boxes. SSP Putty is non-hardening and easily hand works around grouped cabling penetrations forming a re-enterable seal allowing for future work. When applied with outlet boxes, SSP Putty easily works into voids and seams forming a continuous seal against fire and the products of combustion.
SpecSeal® Ready® Sleeve are designed for new cabling penetrations where sleeves are required. Each Ready® Sleeve kit includes a preformed steel sleeve with rolled edges, steel escutcheon plates with intumescent gaskets, and a dosage of our SpecSeal® SSP Firestop Putty. The rolled edges of each Ready® Sleeve eliminate the need for bushings while the included escutcheon plates and gaskets take the place of steel strut and strap supports.
SpecSeal® Ready® Split Sleeve kits easily install around existing cables. Each Ready® Split Sleeve kit includes two preformed steel sleeve halves with rolled edges, steel escutcheon plates with intumescent gaskets, and a dosage of our SpecSeal® SSP Firestop Putty. Ready® Split Sleeve’s two-piece body and plates easily capture previously installed cables while tightly fastening to the penetrated barrier.
SpecSeal® FP Intumescent Firestop Plugs are easy to install, creating a robust seal against fire and smoke. Firestop Plugs make an excellent solution for temporary installation overnight as well as permanent long-term seals for blank openings and cable penetrations. Sized to fit 2″ and 4″ diam. openings, firestop plugs make sealing conduit stubs and sleeves a breeze.
EZ-Firestop® Grommets make sealing penetrations of individual and small bundles of cables through gypsum board walls a snap. Molded from premium plenum-plastics and incorporating a soft foam inner core, EZ-Firestop® Grommets eliminate the need for sleeves, firestop putties & sealants.
Designed for easy installation in non-rated floor, ceilings, and walls, EZ-Path® Series 33NEZ Smoke & Acoustical Pathway provides exceptional cable capacity with tested and approved cable capacities ranging from 0 up to 100% visual fill. A single unit installed in a wall exceeds the cable carrying capacity of a 4” (102 mm) sleeve utilizing typical putty firestop systems (35% cable loading).
