Maple Leaf All STI firestopping systems tested at Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) are also concurrently classified for use in Canada. Such Listings appear in UL's “Products Certified for Canada” directory. STI also conducts tests at UL's sister company, Underwriters Laboratories of Canada (ULC).

The primary difference between Canadian test requirements and those found in the US relates to vented combustible penetrants such as plastic pipes intended for use in drain, waste, or vent (DWV) applications. Said penetrating items must be tested with a minimum positive furnace pressure differential of 50 Pa compared to 2.5 Pa for the US. Other than vented combustible penetrants, all other penetrating items are tested to 2.5 Pa.
