and smoke protection in residential construction. STI manufactures

For fire resistance rated construction involving apertures in
gypsum board/wood stud walls and wood floor/ceilings, Type WF300
Firestop Caulk can be used to provide 1 or 2 hour fire
ratings for a variety of different penetrating items.
In non-rated construction, the codes call for fireblocking materials
to be used to fill voids or cavities around penetrants. SmokeBlock™
Sealer is a non-combustible caulking product that meets
the requirements of ASTM E 136 for use in non-rated applications
for fireblocking and draftstopping.
