Applications Engineer (Fire Protection Products)

Specified Technologies Inc. (STI) is one of the largest manufacturers of firestopping products for the construction industry. Due to rapid growth, we have an opening in our industry-renowned engineering department. Headquartered in Somerville, NJ, our innovative firestopping systems and products are used everyday on construction projects worldwide.

Description:
After an extensive training period, you’ll be part of the team responsible for providing expert advice and support for the company’s products. You’ll interact with contractors, distributors and design professionals offering guidance concerning firestop applications. You’ll use CAD software to design custom solutions to complex firestop applications utilizing a wide range of our products. Additional responsibilities include participation in building code and industry standard development, full-scale fire testing of the company’s products, and other technical duties as assigned. This position reports to the Technical Service Manager.

Qualifications:
We require an engineering degree from an accredited program with a minimum 2 years experience in engineering or equivalent experience. Concentration in fire protection is preferred, but not required. The ability to travel up to 20% overnight on domestic and/or international business is also required. Knowledge of building codes and/or ASTM standards is a plus. You must have excellent interpersonal skills along with strong writing and speaking skills.

Valid PE license and knowledge of fire barriers and/or firestopping is a plus.

Territory Manager – Northern Texas

Specified Technologies, Inc. (STI) is a leading manufacturer of specialty building materials and is experiencing rapid growth. The company is seeking is seeking an aggressive Territory Manager for the Northern Texas and Oklahoma markets.

Successful candidate needs to have construction job site sales experience and understand all facets of the construction process, be able to stimulate sales through contractors and end users, coordinate sales efforts on major construction projects and have the ability to setup and manage distribution. Candidates must be free to travel and computer proficiency is a must.
